Each step exists because skipping it in past projects created specific, avoidable problems. The structure is not ceremony — it is experience.
A structured session — 45 minutes for small projects, 90 minutes for larger ones — where we establish the goals, the audience, the scope, and what success looks like. The output is a written brief that both parties sign before anything begins.

Site architecture and content structure, agreed in writing. For identity projects, the brand strategy document is developed here. This stage produces the decisions that design will be judged against.

Visual design of all agreed pages in Figma, starting with the most complex and working outwards. One direction, presented and discussed — not a menu of options. Revisions happen within the included rounds.

Development of approved designs. Mobile, tablet, and desktop tested throughout. Performance tracked from the start. CMS configured before handover begins.

Structured review rounds. Consolidated feedback, not rolling changes. Each round closes cleanly. Post-revision amends are billed at the hourly rate.

DNS cutover, SSL verification, analytics confirmation, redirect testing. Source files delivered. Handover session scheduled. Post-launch support period begins.

The brief session took two hours and I left knowing exactly what the site needed to do. It is the first time I have worked with a studio that started from the business problem rather than the design.

We had not received a single enquiry from the website in four years. Eight weeks after the new site launched, three people had contacted us without any referral. That had never happened before.

We now look consistent for the first time. Same logo, same colours, same photography treatment everywhere. It sounds obvious but it took having someone force the decision to actually achieve it.

I told them I had a tight deadline and they delivered the site four days ahead of schedule. No drama, no excuses. Just done.

Andrea founded TrueMake Designs in Bibbiena in 2017. He spent five years before that at digital agencies in Florence and Bologna — long enough to understand what makes clients frustrated with agencies and what they actually need from a project. He came back to the Casentino because the work is better here and the commute is non-existent.

Elena joined in 2019 after three years of freelance UX work across the Tuscany region. She leads all design work at TrueMake — from brand identity through to responsive component systems. Her background in UX before she moved into visual design means she asks questions about user flow that most visual designers skip entirely.

Marco is from Arezzo and has been building websites since 2014. He joined TrueMake in 2021 and is responsible for all development, performance, and technical quality. He has a particular focus on Core Web Vitals and the specific ways that a poorly-performing site costs businesses money in paid advertising and organic search.
