The engagement begins with a 90-minute strategy session. Before any design begins, we establish: who the site is for, what they need to understand before they trust you, and what action you want them to take. The structure of the site — how many pages, in which order, linking to what — follows directly from those answers.

Design for the Blueprint Site is done in two phases. The first phase covers the homepage and the primary navigation structure. We present one visual direction — not three options — because presenting three directions and asking clients to choose is an efficient way for agencies to avoid making the right decision. We make the decision and explain why. If the direction is wrong, we change it. But in most cases it is right, because the brief was thorough enough to get there.

Development begins during the second design phase on pages already approved. This parallel working shortens the overall timeline and means clients see the site working in a browser sooner. The CMS is configured so that client team members with no technical background can update text, images, and blog posts without touching code.

WordPress with a custom theme, no page-builder. This gives clients a simple editing experience without the performance cost of builders. For sites where WP does not fit, we advise an alternative at the brief stage.
